Where You Can Get Support
Taking the first step toward better mental health is possible. It begins with acknowledging and understanding what you're going through, whether it's depression, anxiety, or loneliness. And know this: you deserve support.

The Hidden Struggle: Men's Mental Health in Numbers
Too many men suffer in silence. They're less likely to talk about their struggles, which often leads to devastating consequences: undiagnosed mental health issues, addiction, and the heartbreaking reality of suicide. We need to break this cycle.
Consider a few statistics:
Six million men in the U.S. are affected by depression every year. But these cases often go undiagnosed because men report symptoms such as irritability, loss of interest in hobbies or fatigue rather than depression. (Mental Health America, 2020)
Men are two to three times more likely to misuse drugs. Because they are not getting adequate mental health care, men are more likely to “self-medicate” with drugs or alcohol, leading to addiction. (Center for Behavioral Statistics and Quality, 2017)
Men are twice as likely to die from excessive alcohol use. Every year, an estimated 120,000 men die from excessive alcohol use because of their addiction and untreated mental health issues. (National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism)
Men are four times as likely to die from suicide. Men who cannot get help for their mental health issues or the drug and alcohol addictions they developed as a result of them may be driven to desperation. (National Institute of Mental Health)
